Education system in Japan, 1948-1994

The study contains time series on indicators of Japan´s educational system between 1948 and 1994. They contain the following themes: - Schools and universities (number of Kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, technical and other academies, universities, etc.) - Pupils and students - Teaching staff of the covered institutions - Number of academics in the institutions - Expenditure on research at universities by institutes and by type of grant - Expenditure on schools by school types, separately by public and private schools - Expenditure of local authorities on education - Japan´s expenditure on education, science and culture
