Design and development of portable emergency medical ventilator for respiratory troubles of COVID-19 patients

Critical patients with corona disease have severe coughing, shortness of breath and sore throat, in most cases they cannot breathe on their own. Then they need artificial respiration through a ventilator. The ventilator works to carry oxygen and emit carbon dioxide to the patient's lungs. But the number of ventilators in Bangladesh is less than required. Emergency Ventilator has been created to solve the problem of this ventilator crisis in the country. Emergency Ventilator which is made with very low cost indigenous technology and which is also very easy and safe to operate. This ventilator has been redesigned following the model of Emergency-Ventilator developed by the world renowned MIT in Corona.患有新冠疾病（corona disease）的重症患者会出现剧烈咳嗽、呼吸急促与咽痛症状，多数情况下无法自主呼吸。此类患者需借助呼吸机（ventilator）实施人工呼吸：呼吸机的功能是向患者肺部输送氧气并排出二氧化碳。但孟加拉国的呼吸机数量远低于实际需求。为解决该国的呼吸机危机，研发团队开发了应急呼吸机（Emergency Ventilator）。该应急呼吸机采用低成本本土技术打造，操作简便且安全性优异。本款呼吸机参考全球知名的麻省理工学院（MIT）在新冠疫情期间研发的应急呼吸机模型完成了重新设计。
