WKY: normotensive age-matched control rats, n = 7, SHR-C: SHR age-matched control rats, n = 8, SHR-L: SHR treated with L-2286 for 24 weeks, n = 9. SAP, DAP, MAP30w: systolic, diastolic and mean arterial blood pressure at 30-week-old age (n = 3 from each group). BW6w: body weight of 6-week-old rats, BW: body weight, WV: weights of ventricles, BNP: plasma b-type natriuretic peptide.
