As the most common primary lung cancer, Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remains the leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Although the gut microbiota has been reported to play critical roles in the anti-tumor efficacy of many cancers, litter effort has been made to understand the role of the gut microbiota in response to gefitinib therapy for LUAD and whether there is any practical method to enhance its anti-tumor efficacy. In our study, we used a longitudinal sampling of PC-9 tumor-bearing mice under gefitinib alone and combination therapy (e.g.., a combination of gefitinib and probiotic, antibiotic, or Traditional Chinese Medicine, TCM) to model intestinal microbial changes in response to gefitinib therapy.
