Mawes corpus

Audio-visual recordings and transcription of Mawes, a language isolate spoken in Bonggo District, Sarmi Regency, Papua, Indonesia. The data was collected by a team of researchers from Palacky University Olomouc and Udayana University, namely George Saad, Komang Sumaryana, Wahyu Widiatmika, Ari Segara, Gita Kesuma. It was done as part of a project hosted at Udayana University by I Made Netra.

(4) Migration history of community: The elders from Mawesdai village told that people from Mawesdai and Mawes Wares were once inhabited the same area of old hamlet of Mawesdai. However, due to social conflict caused by intermarriage between the two community, Mawes Wares moved out.
