To understand the differential gene expression underlying biting behavior in Culex pipiens, a primary vector for West Nile virus, we provide transcritome sequences of 3 day-old female heads from two forms: biting Culex pipiens pipiens (prior to ingesting blood-meal) and non-biting Culex pipiens molestus.
