BernClim-Data Plant phenology, snow duration, fog frequency

The BernClim data include seasonal observations of plant phenology, snowpack and fog collected by volunteer observers from 1970-2011. The following were recorded: - Plants: Entry of the general flowering (50% of the flowers open) for hazel, dandelion and apple tree as well as general leaf discoloration of the beech (at least 50% of the leaves yellow). - Snow: Snow cover available on the observation area - fog: Days with fog by visibility (0-200 m or 200-1000 m) On the basis of the observation data, linear regressions were carried out depending on the altitude, on the basis of which comprehensive raster data about the canton of Bern were calculated.
