TOGA global blended Sea Surface Temperature (SST) data for July-December 1986 was provided by W. Campbell from the Ocean Products Center. SST's were collected from ships and buoys (in situ) and from satellites (POLAR AVHRR). Blended SST's eliminate biases or large scale trends in the satellite data by using the in situ data as anchor points.
