THE CONCEPT OF SYNONYMY IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LINGUISTICS

This article investigates the concept of synonymy in English and Uzbek linguistics. Synonymy is one of the most important semantic phenomena that enriches vocabulary and improves communicative effectiveness in language. The study analyzes the similarities and differences between English and Uzbek synonyms, their classifications, stylistic usage, and semantic features. Comparative analysis demonstrates that both languages possess rich synonymic resources, although they differ in structure, origin, and application. The research also highlights the role of synonymy in translation, linguistics, and language teaching.
