Role of Hmgb1 in hepatocarcinogenesis

The gene expression of normal and tumor tissues isolated from WT mice were compared with tumor tissues isolated from mice harboring liver specific deletion of HMGB1 a. Hepatocellular carcinoma from HMGB1 floxed control mice, treated with the combination of DEN (25 mg/kg i.p. given a day 15 postpartum) and CCl4 (0.5 ul/g, dissolved in corn oil, given weekly starting at week 8 postpartum for 15 weeks) (Hgmb1fl/fl , n=6) b. Hepatocellular carcinoma from mice with liver-specific HMGB1 deletion (HMGB1fl/fl mice expressing Albumin-Cre), treated with the combination of DEN (25 mg/kg i.p. given a day 15 postpartum) and CCl4 (0.5 ul/g, dissolved in corn oil, given weekly starting at week 8 postpartum for 15 weeks) (Hgmb1Dhep , n=6) c.
