Bulk soil samples were recovered from deposits along the Carson River in northern
Nevada and eastern California for a paleoflood study. The sediments were floated to recover
charcoal and other organic remains suitable for radiocarbon dating. Botanic remains, including
charcoal, were identified and radiocarbon datable materials were separated.
