Einwanderungsspitzenland in Europa und multikulturelle Gesellschaft zu sein sind charakteristische Züge des heutigen Deutschland. Die innewohnende Problematik ist nicht mehr zu ignorieren. In der Therapie von Ausländern/Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund ist das Beachten des soziokulturellen Kontexts sowie eine kultursensible Vorgehensweise unabdingbar. Kontextualität in der Musiktherapie verlangt ein Berücksichtigen der jeweiligen Musikerfahrungen, des kulturell geprägten Umgangs mit Gefühlen sowie der Muttersprache der Ausländer/Migranten. Die Musiktherapie in Deutschland hat zwar bis vor kurzem noch wenig Interesse an diesem Feld gezeigt. Dennoch ist Kultursensibilität in der Musiktherapie bereits erkennbar. Auch die Musiktherapie in Deutschland bewegt sich in Richtung „Interkulturelle Öffnung“ mit transkulturellen Perspektiven. Present-day Germany claims to have more immigrants than any other European country and is seen as a multicultural society. The inherent problems can no longer be ignored. Consideration of the sociocultural context as well as a culture sensitive approach are essential in therapy with foreigners / individuals with a history of migration. Contexture in music therapy requires consideration of an individual’s experience with music, the customary manner in which a culture approaches the subject of emotions, as well as the native language of the foreigner / migrant. Until recently, music therapy in Germany showed little interest in this subject. Cultural sensitivity, however, is already apparent in the field of music therapy.
