Transcriptome profiling of PB-deficient cells infected with Trypanosoma cruzi

Processing bodies (PBs) are cytoplasmic foci formed by condensation of translationally inactivated messenger ribonucleoprotein particles. We established a PB-defective (KO) human fibrosarcoma cell line by knocking out the enhancer of mRNA decapping 4 (EDC4), an essential component of PB assembly. We performed host transcriptome profiling between wild-type (WT) and KO cells infected with the protozoan parasite Trypanosoma cruzi to identify PB-regulated mRNA targets during infection.
