Region-, crop-, and altitude-specific European farm management data

This dataset contains region-, crop-, and altitude-specific European farm management that is compiled from 238,419 individual Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN) observations from 2018, 2019, and 2020, and integrated with Eurostat tillage data (2016; https://doi.org/10.2908/EF_MP_PRAC), spanning 27 EU member states and UK. For each region, crop, and altitude class combination for which more than 45 survey responses were available (to protect anonymity of farmers), we determined the weighted median and interquartile ranges (IQR) of the following 25 farm management indicators: livestock density, mineral N input, mineral P input, mineral K input, total N input, total P input, total K input, estimated % N from manure, estimated % P from manure, estimated % K from manure, probability of organic farming, crop rotational diversity, cropping intensity, share of each of 8 different crop types in the crop mix, and tillage intensity.
