Dietary rye is limited, particularly for young birds, due to its high levels of soluble arabinoxylans. Age-related microbiota succession enables broilers to degrade and ferment arabinoxylans, suggesting additional prebiotic effects. The current study aimed to evaluate whether adding rye to broiler diets after the 2nd week of life affects cecal microbiota and fermentation products.
