Dataset for "Reassessing Free-Riding in Student Teamwork: An Ethical-Analytical Framework for Evaluating Collaboration in Higher Education"

This repository contains the full dataset and documentation used in the study “Reassessing Free-Riding in Student Teamwork: An Ethical-Analytical Framework for Evaluating Collaboration in Higher Education”.The project investigates the prevalence, drivers, and perception of free-riding in academic group work, based on a cross-sectional survey of 407 students in Polish higher education. The dataset was collected using a Computer-Assisted Web Interviewing (CAWI) method in June 2024. It captures students’ experience with teamwork, personal free-riding practices, instructor behaviour, and contextual factors that may foster or inhibit free-riding. The unit of analysis is an individual student’s response. Each row represents one respondent.
