资源简介:
This repository contains the datasets, processing workflows, and analysis scripts used to estimate global-scale critical soil moisture thresholds (θ*) and to characterize hydrological regime dynamics and land–atmosphere interactions. The framework derives θ* using three independent diurnal soil temperature range (dTs) datasets sourced from ERA5, GLDAS, and MERRA2. Beyond θ* estimation, the repository provides a comprehensive set of regime diagnostics to quantify hydrological stability and transition behavior.
Key diagnostics include:
Persistence (γ): Fraction of time the system remains in the water-limited regimeRegime Shifting Potential (τ): Probability of transitions between hydrological regimesRegime Similarity Index (π): Degree of agreement between independent θ* estimates derived from dataset pairsThe persistence (γ) and regime shifting potential (τ) metrics are computed independently for thresholds derived from ERA5, GLDAS, and MERRA2. The regime similarity index (π) is evaluated across dataset pairs (ERA5-GLDAS, GLDAS-MERRA2, and ERA5-–MERRA2) to assess cross-dataset consistency and robustness.
