Effective Trivalent Vaccine Development against Foot-and-Mouth Disease

Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) is endemic in Bangladesh and the implementation of a control program for this disease is at an early stage, according to the FAO and OIE proposed progressive control pathway for the FMD (PCP-FMD) road map. According to the timeline, Bangladesh was supposed to complete disease risk and epidemiological studies for FMD by 2016 to achieve an advanced stage of PCP-FMD. The effective control and prevention of FMD in Bangladesh require proper epidemiological data, disease reporting, animal movement control, appropriate vaccination and above all stringent policies from the government. This study targets to produce an effective vaccine against the deadly disease of cattle population.
