Women’s Shoe Monitoring 2019-2020 and other protective orchids

In the two project years 2019 and 2020, 45 examination areas were perpetrated and their women’s shoe deposits were documented. Data could be used for evaluation from 2016. The number of flowers and sticks shows a minimal trend upwards. However, the flower rate (ratio of flowers to vegetative sprouts) decreases slowly but steadily. Since orchids do not bloom every year and prefer to save energy in case of not optimal environmental conditions, annual monitoring of this sensitive species is extremely important and only meaningful over several years. For 30 other orchid species, important data on distribution and frequency could be obtained, which feed into future management plans (e.g. alpine pasture management).
