Energy Transition Policies and Urban Economic Resilience

The dataset was selected from the panel data of 266 prefecture-level cities and above in China during the period 2007-2022, and the following data processing was carried out:(1) Based on the Notice of the National Energy Administration on the Announcement of the List of New Energy Demonstration Cities (Industrial Parks) to be Created (the First Batch) issued by the National Energy Administration in 2014, this paper takes the cities in the list of the first batch of new energy demonstration cities as the experimental group. To ensure the robustness of the findings, county-level cities and industrial parks in the 81 demonstration cities (districts), as well as new energy demonstration cities set up on a district basis, were excluded. Eventually, the experimental group included 58 cities and the control group included 208 cities. (2) Missing data are filled in by linear interpolation; price indicators are deflated using 2007 as the base period. The data used in this paper mainly come from China Urban Yearbook, China Urban Construction Statistics Yearbook, and government bulletins of prefectural-level cities.
