Phenotypic tolerance for rDNA copy number variation within the natural range of C. elegans

Recombinant inbred lines (RILs) of C. elegans were generated from parents of a laboratory background strain and wild isolate MY1, which has high rDNA copy number. rDNA arrays of various copy numbers were further introgressed to produce near isogenic lines (NILs) with minimal linked wild isolate DNA. Whole genome sequencing was performed on the RILs and NILs. RNA sequencing was performed on the NILs.
