This Resource Guide on Coastal Awareness was developed for elementary, junior high and high school teachers who would like to instill in children and young adults an appreciation of the ecologic value of the coast. The guide contains concepts and activities which could be used in a unit on Coastal Awareness. The purpose of this guide is not to present a definitive work on coastal ecology, but to entice teachers to explore ecological aspects of coastal awareness.
