VPRS 10805 Extractive Industry Lease Files
收藏资源简介:
The series comprises files relating to the issue and currency of extractive industry leases. These files were maintained by the central office of the Mines Department (VA 612) and subsequent departments. A lease allows any person to carry out extractive industry on for a term of not exceeding 15 years of any Crown land not exceeding a specified area. The term Extractive Industry refers to the extraction of stone from land for commercial or construction purposes. This includes building, road and manufacturing works, and the manufacturing of materials such as pottery, bricks, tiles and cement products. Stone extracted may include sand, earth or soil, clay, peat, quartz, gravel or slate, or building stone such as sandstone or freestone, basalt, granite, limestone or rock, or other minerals. Records may include: original application, locality plan, map search sheet, permit form, comments and conditions maintained by other government authorities affecting the issue and/or currency of the application/permit, copy of permit, fees, and letters of advice and request. Files may also include reports from applicant and/or applicant's technical adviser(s) detailing: the aims of the application, exploration program, results of search operations; land ownership issues and permittees observance to departmental instructions regarding agreements made to conditions of legislation; notice of cancellation or abandonment; and clerical action sheets. The final status of the application/permit is recorded on the file cover, e.g. rejected, expired, cancelled or abandoned. Extractive Industries were conducted under the Mines Act 1928 and subsequent Acts prior to the creation of the Extractive Industries Act 1966. This Act was amended in 1986, and then repealed by the Extractive Industries Development Act 1995. The equivalent central files for Extractive Industry Search Permits and Licences can be found in VPRS 10803 and VPRS 10804 respectively. Corresponding working plans and proposals for some of the permits, believed to be maintained by the regional offices of the Department, can be located in VPRS 19144 Extractive Industry Working Plans and Proposals.
