Bacterial microbiomes of Ixodes scapularis adults (n=115) collected from natural vegetation in Texas and Massachusetts, USA (during 2016 and 2017) were analyzed by sequencing the 16S V4 rRNA gene. Additionally, female I. scapularis ticks (n=7) collected from dogs in Texas were included in the project.
