GALES simulation outputs of magma rise in a water-injected borehole under Krafla geothermal conditions
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains postprocessed outputs from a planar two-dimensional GALES simulation of magma rise into a water-injected borehole under conditions motivated by the Krafla geothermal system. Water enters through the upper inlet at a prescribed downward velocity of 0.314 m/s and a temperature of 313.15 K (40 °C). Magma is initially at 1173.15 K (900 °C), with constant density of 2500 kg/m³ and dynamic viscosity of 10⁵ Pa·s. Water thermophysical properties depend on pressure and temperature. An initially prescribed pressure difference between magma and water drives magma rise into the borehole. Numerical results are supplied as VTU files with a PVD collection file for time-series visualization in ParaView. Point-data fields comprise pressure (p, Pa), pressure change relative to the initial state (dp, Pa), temperature (T, K), water mass fraction (Y, dimensionless), and velocity (v, m/s). To view the results, extract the ZIP archive and open data/data.pvd in ParaView, preserving its location relative to the VTU files. An animation, model-geometry image and descriptive summary accompany the numerical outputs. This release contains simulation outputs; simulation input files are not included. The model uses constant magma properties and neglects glass formation. Results represent an idealized numerical research scenario.
