In June 2013 Cotswold Archaeology undertook an archaeological evaluation, at the request of Bloor Homes Ltd, following an application made to Malvern Hills District Council for residential development of the site. The evaluation comprised the excavation of three trenches measuring 55m in length by 2m in width. The underlying bedrock geology is mapped as Wildmoor Sandstone Formation of the Triassic period. No superficial deposits are recorded for this area. Archaeological features were only identified in Trenches 1 and 3.
