Digital Archive from an Archaeological Evaluation at Bishopscourt House, Bishopscourt, Isle of Man, June 2022

This collection comprises image, text, spreadsheet and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation Bishopscourt House, Bishopscourt, Isle of Man. The work was undertaken by Wessex Archaeology in June 2022. The evaluation comprised the hand-excavation of 22 test pits within the grounds of Bishopscourt House. The test pitting works have successfully identified the deposit sequence around the chapel and outbuildings at Bishopscourt and tested the results of an earlier geophysical survey. The earliest dateable finds comprise a few sherds of medieval pottery. Most of the small assemblage of finds was of postmedieval/ modern date, generally recovered from upper layers.
