FishEUTrust: Seafood traceability assessing trough microbial communities: proposing a targeted metagenomic approach

Since microbial communities related to seafood have been already proposed in seafood tracking and safety, in this work we propose targeted metagenomic approach to improve information depth obtainable by fish microbiota. To do this, we assessed gill microbiota of the fish commercial species Sparus aurata, using samples from different European suppliers, trough targeted metagenomic sequencing on bacterial biomarker rRNA 16S (V3-V4 regions). This study is part of the European project FISHEUTRUST
