Flaveria whole genome sequence. Flaveria

C4 plants are believed to have evolved from C3 plants through a C3-C4 intermediate stage. To figure out the process of establishment of C4 photosynthesis, we performed whole genomes sequencing analysis of closely related Flaveria species exhibiting a C4(Flaveria bidentis), C3(Flaveria robusta), C3-C4 intermediate(Flaveria floridana) or C4-like(Flaveria brownii) type of photosynthesis.
