<b>Figure 3. </b><b><i>Penk</i></b><b>-deficient chimeric mice display virtually no functional T cell alteration.</b>

The relative frequency of CD4⁺ T lymphocyte subsets in colonic <i>lamina propria</i> and spleen from chimeric <i>penk</i>^+/+ and <i>penk</i>^-/- mice was estimated by cytofluorometry.Spleen cells from chimeric <i>penk</i>^+/+ and <i>penk</i>^-/- mice were isolated by cell-sorting as myeloid cells, B lymphocytes and CD4 and CD8 T lymphocytes. <i>Penk</i> mRNA expression was quantified by real-time PCR normalized to the <i>HPRT</i> mRNA and quantified relative to standard mouse brain cDNA.
