Land Map of the Federal Republic of Germany 1:200,000

The soil overview map 1:200,000 (BÜK200) is prepared and issued by the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Raw Materials (BGR) in cooperation with the State Geological Services (SGD) of the Länder according to uniform standards, standards and nomenclatures. It appears in the sheet section of the official topographic overview map 1:200,000 (TÜK200) and comprises 55 individual map sheets. Although the BÜK200 is published in individual printed map sheets, it is basically a sheet-cut-free map work, which provides a detailed, uniform and nationwide information basis for cross-border statements on land use and soil protection. It represents the distribution and socialisation of soils and their properties in Germany. From the base surface data of the BÜK200 (guided and accompanying soils with information on soil type, type of soil, soil exit rock, humus and carbonate content, layer and horizon depth, groundwater level, etc.), which are stored in a relational database jointly developed by the BGR and the SGD, functions, potentials and hazards of soils can be identified and presented. The BÜK200 data series includes all map sheets with their digital map images and geometries as well as the preliminary BÜK200 surface database.
