Gladstone Region Disaster Recovery Project 1 will monitor and measurably improve the aquatic ecosystems, including wetlands and sensitive coastal environments of the Boyne River including Gladstone Port, its islands, and the Southern Barrier Reef. It will:
(i) remediate areas of specific marine and terrestrial ecosystems impacted by disaster; and
(ii) objectively assess, document and monitor the culturally significant areas adjacent to the heritage listed Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, including locating and surveying shell middens and burial sites.
