SPAM (Spatial Production Allocation Model) is a global crop production allocation model database that provides data on planted area, harvested area and yield for 42 crop types at a spatial resolution of 8.6 km between 2000 and 2020. This database uses the cross-entropy method to disaggregate national and provincial-level data into grid cells, revealing the spatial patterns of crop production systems. It aims to assist policymakers and donors to better formulate agricultural and rural development policies, improve food security and reduce environmental impacts.
