Daymet v4 daily surface weather aggregated to TIGER/Line geographies

This repository contains 1980-2020 daily-resolution Daymet v4 data from ORNL DAAC as of May 2021 aggregated to various TIGER/Line geographies from the U.S. Census Bureau. Daily surface weather data can be very large and unwieldy to work with, especially on smaller machines; as of May 2021 the Daymet 1-kilometer grid is nearly 3 terabytes at a daily resolution. The files in this repository are much smaller in comparison and contain data that has been aggregated to commonly-used U.S. Census Bureau geographies to facilitate simple and straightforward use in ecological studies. Due to Harvard Dataverse file size limitations, larger files have been split into several parts. These parts can be concatenated/row-bound together to reconstruct the original data. To sort by geography, use the "Tree" option in the "Change View" menu of the data set browser. Code used to generate these files is available in the ercas/daymet-aggregation repository on GitHub.
