Whole genome sequencing data and comparisons on a collection of strains (n = 48) belonging to the species Aerococcus sanguinicola (n = 8) and Aerococcus urinae (n = 40) were presented in the study by Carkaci et al.. On the data, pan- and core-genome characterizations, proteome conservations, and phylogenetic relationships were carefully outlined and described as was virulence gene homologs of pan- and core-genes (protein level), involved in antiphagocytosis, adherence, and biofilm formation.
