Development of more efficient and sustainable irrigation technology is critical to maintain horticultural production in a water scarce future. Sensor controlled irrigation is an emerging technology that has the potential to increase irrigation efficiency and reduce overwatering by using real-time data on container water status to control the timing and volume of irrigation events. This project presents a novel irrigation control system using lysimetry. We develop small scale lysimeters, referred to as mini-lysimeter, which provide a direct measure of actual evapotranspiration (ET) via a change in mass of containerized crops. This data repository provides the necessary documents and designs to reproduce a mini-lysimeter controlled irrigation system for use in container nurseries. The repository includes CAD files of the mini-lysimeter design, a bill of materials for device assembly, and documentation on data logger wiring.
在未来水资源短缺的背景下,研发更高效且可持续的灌溉技术,对维持园艺生产至关重要。传感器控制灌溉作为一项新兴技术,可依托容器栽培基质的实时水分状态数据调控灌溉时机与灌溉量,有望提升灌溉效率并减少过度浇水问题。本项目提出了一种基于蒸渗测量法(lysimetry)的新型灌溉控制系统。本项目研发了小型蒸渗仪(mini-lysimeter),可通过监测容器栽培作物的质量变化,直接测得实际蒸散量(actual evapotranspiration, ET)。本数据集仓库提供了复刻容器苗圃用小型蒸渗仪控制灌溉系统所需的全部设计文件与技术资料。该仓库包含小型蒸渗仪设计的CAD文件、设备组装所需的物料清单,以及数据记录仪接线相关的技术文档。
