Tabulating The Effect of Different Coloured Food Sources On Potential Pollinators.

An ecological experiment was conducted on Monday, September 28, 2015, at York University--from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, at the Danby Woodlot--involving the differences in colour of food sources, and how that may affect the selectiveness of pollinators for food sources. Ten pan traps were placed in an open grassland, while ten were placed in a forested/woodland area. Traps were collected approximately 2.5 hours later, and the amount and diversity of insects in each trap was recorded, along with the colour of each trap (blue, white, yellow).
