The Persian Piano Corpus (PPC) is a dataset focused on Persian piano music, developed by Parsa Rasouli and Azam Bastanfard from the Karaj Branch of Islamic Azad University. This dataset contains 2022 Persian piano pieces, covering works from early Persian piano composers to prominent contemporary figures. In addition to the musical works themselves, the PPC dataset also provides detailed labels for Persian musical modes (Dastgah) and comprehensive metadata, supporting applications across multiple research fields. The creation of the PPC dataset involved collecting audio files from the Internet and processing these files via feature extraction technologies to ensure data availability and research value. The PPC dataset has a wide range of application areas, including music information retrieval, music classification and acoustic analysis, aiming to deepen the understanding of the cultural and artistic values of Persian music and its piano performances.
