Saponins enhance the build-up of Fusarium in the rhizosphere of Panax notoginseng through weaking the soil disease suppressive ability (Bacteria)

Root rot disease, caused by soil-borne pathogen F. oxysporum, is difficult to control due to it rapidly re-build-up in the rhizosphere. Plant root exudates have a specific selectivity towards pathogens, which makes a simple suppression strategy targeting the pathogen difficult to achieve effective and sustained management of root rot.
