El exilio en Onetti. Entre ficción y realidad

J.C. Onetti's narrative deals with the exile thematic, addressing it in all possible variants. His works reveal characters that leave their homeland due to political reasons, or they are expelled from their city as a result of some enigmatic reason, hidden by the ambiguity of his narrative. In addition, certain characters dream with the idea of the exile to resolve their frustrations and lack of faith in the future, without leaving their natural environment, an image that leads to the concept of "insile", a kind of inner exile. Through their experiences, Onetti's characters seem to point towards the reality of their creator, as he, as well, ends up exiling himself from his native country, thus establishing a counterpoint between fiction and reality.
