Genomic analysis of Meiren yak based on whole genome resequencing

The Meiren yak is an important yak genetic resource in Gansu Province, China. In order to investigate the evolutionary history and population structure of Meiren yak genetic resources and to explore the characteristic genes of Meiren yak, the present study analyzed a total of 93 yaks from eight yak populations based on whole genome resequencing combined with population genomics methods, and proved that the Meiren yak could be a potential resource population in Gansu Province.
