The datasets presented here contain temporally highly resolved temperature measurements of cyclic charging/discharging experiments at 60 and 80°C within the water-saturated cementitious storage medium and the laboratory temperature, as well as measurements of the transient boundary conditions: the temperature in the inlet and outlet pipes and the flow rate of the circulating heat transfer fluid (water). In addition, the geometry and materials of the experimental setup of the laboratory-scale prototype are presented. The experimental data set can be used to determine the storage characteristics, i.e. quantities such as storage capacity, charging/discharging rates, energy efficiency as well as to determine the thermal losses of the storage module. The data sets are also useful for the validation of storage models like the one presented in Nordbeck et al [in revision] or related geothermal systems like borehole heat exchangers or energy piles with helical heat exchangers.
