This dataset comprises along-course cumulative runoff and sediment load curves for the mainstream of the Yellow River, spanning the period from 1954 to 2015. It includes 62 annual interval runoff change curves and 62 annual interval sediment load change curves at hydrometric stations along the Yellow River mainstream from 1954 to 2015, as well as 5 average water and sediment load change curves for each of the five periods: 1956-2015, 1956-1970, 1971-1985, 1986-2000, and 2001-2015, with a total of 134 plots. These curves illustrate the along-course accumulation and reduction dynamics of water and sediment in the Yellow River. This dataset is sourced from *Atlas of Spatio-temporal Patterns of Water and Sediment in the Yellow River* (2nd Edition), compiled by Liu Baoyuan et al. and published by Science Press. This data can serve as a reference for researchers, educators, and management personnel at all levels involved in relevant work across the fields of hydrology, water conservancy, soil and water conservation, ecology, environment, agriculture, and land consolidation.
