Supplementary material for: “Investigating the patterns of tree cover and density in relation to abiotic and biotic factors in Kruger National Park” (Ecosphere)

This dataset contains tree cover and tree density data collected using Collect Earth across 4,258 plots in Kruger National Park (KNP). The table includes the following variables.<br><b>id</b> – Unique identifier assigned to each plot in Collect Earth.<b>location_s</b> – Spatial reference system of the coordinates (EPSG:4326, WGS84, decimal degrees).<b>location_x</b> – Longitude of the plot center (decimal degrees, EPSG:4326).<b>location_y</b> – Latitude of the plot center (decimal degrees, EPSG:4326).<b>elevation</b> – Elevation of the plot center in meters above sea level.<b>slope</b> – Ground slope of the plot in degrees.<b>aspect</b> – Aspect of the plot in degrees (0–360, where 0/360 = North, 90 = East, 180 = South, 270 = West).<b>tree_density</b> – Number of trees recorded per plot (0.5 ha).<b>tree_cover</b> – Percentage of plot area covered by tree canopy (%).<b>imagery_source</b>– Imagery used for visual interpretation of the plot (Google Earth/Bing Maps)<b>imagery_date</b>– Year of the imagery used for the visual interpretation of the plot (i.e., no date available for Bing Maps)
