The 1:4,000,000-scale soil type distribution map of Yibin City, Sichuan Province (developed under the first version of the Chinese Soil Taxonomy, 1990s) is one of the research outcomes of the Chinese Soil Taxonomy initiative. This map was compiled by comprehensively reorganizing, delineating and revising the national 1:4,000,000-scale soil type distribution map based on the research findings of the first version of the Chinese Soil Taxonomy. The minimum mapping unit of this soil map is the subgroup stipulated in the first version of the Chinese Soil Taxonomy, which encompasses a total of 72 soil groups and 247 subgroups.
