Environmental vision 2018 — Hard border city and country

Version of Hard Border City and Country adopted by Provincial Staten van Drenthe on 3 October 2018. On the map, hard borders between city and country are marked at the edges of Assen, Hoogeveen and Meppel. There the cities are bordering on landscape and cultural historical values. The Drentsche Aa (Assen), the Oude Diep (Hoogeveen) and the Reest (Meppel) are iconic for the spatial quality of Drenthe. We want to preserve and strengthen these values. We consider that the extension of the neighbouring cities is undesirable. Map core quality landscape
