Natural functions of the soil (WMS service)

The natural functions of soil are defined in the Soil Protection Act (BBodSchG 1998 § 2(2)(1)) and their assessment is standardised in Saxony in the Soil Assessment Instrument (2009). The present presentation is a summary of 3 natural functions (natural soil fertility, water storage capacity, filter and buffer function) to an overall assessment. The basis of the summary is the rounded arithmetic mean of the individual function value levels, shown on the extended block map.
