Comparative study on noise tax and charges measurement in civil aviation

The Aviation industry is a crucial part of national business. However, the aviation industry also causes much damage to the environment, especially noise pollution. The one approach used against noise pollution is tax and charges imposed at Heathrow Airport in the UK and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport in France. The study on the noise tax and charges in this independent study compares the principle of environmental tax, ICAO charges policy, EU laws, and comparative study on the UK, France, and Thailand laws. The result shows that the policy used in studied airports in UK and France successfully mitigates the noise. For Thailand, the imposition of noise tax is not allowed by the current law. However, the imposition of noise charges is possible but still needs much amendment on related laws to achieve the best result.
