This study investigates how anthropogenic disturbances shape plant population dynamics and species interactions, providing insights into biodiversity resilience and informing conservation strategies. We focus on Securidaca longepedunculata, a long-lived medicinal tree native to sub-Saharan Africa, which is declining due to pressures such as lethal root harvesting and herbivory. To understand the combined influence of environmental, anthropogenic, and ecological factors on plant population dynamics we performed three bibliometric and systematic reviews of existing literature to contextualise our findings, identify knowledge gaps, and assess broader trends in the study of plant population dynamics under anthropogenic pressures.
