Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) - Surveys of Octocorals in the Rowley Shoals Marine Park and the Mermaid Reef National Marine Nature Reserve, Western Australia (2007)

Octocoral biodiversity was surveyed at eighteen sites across all three Rowley Shoals (Mermaid, Clerke and Imperieuse Reefs). At each site, transects commenced at ~20m depth and ascended gradually, finishing at ~5m depth over a horizontal distance of ~300m. All octocorals encountered were identified (so far as possible in the field), most were photographed and selected samples were taken of new observations for later taxonomic analysis. Taxa have been matched to the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS). This dataset was sourced on July 2018 from the original DiGIR dataset at OBIS and updated to reflect changes in the OBIS data requirements.

本次调查针对罗利沙洲（Rowley Shoals）全部三座礁体——美人鱼礁（Mermaid Reef）、克拉克礁（Clerke Reef）与因佩里厄斯礁（Imperieuse Reef）——的18个采样点，开展了八放珊瑚（Octocoral）生物多样性普查。每个采样点均布设样带，样带起始于约20米水深处，缓慢向上延伸，最终在约5米水深处结束，水平跨度约300米。所有偶遇的八放珊瑚均尽可能在野外现场完成鉴定，其中多数被拍摄留存影像，同时针对新发现的观测对象选取样本，用于后续分类学分析。本数据集所涉类群均已与世界海洋物种登记册（World Register of Marine Species, WoRMS）完成匹配对应。本数据集于2018年7月从海洋生物地理信息系统（Ocean Biogeographic Information System, OBIS）的原始DiGIR数据集获取，并已根据OBIS最新的数据要求完成更新。
